Position Summary:

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for providing safe, effective, and client-centred nursing care to individuals in a variety of settings, including hospitals, aged care facilities, community settings, and private homes. The RN will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of high-quality care that meets the individual needs of each client.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assessment and Care Planning:
    • Conduct comprehensive assessments of client needs, including physical, psychological, and social needs.
    • Develop and implement individualised care plans in collaboration with1 clients, families, and other healthcare professionals.
    • Monitor client’s condition and adjust care plans as needed.
  • Nursing Interventions:
    • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
    • Perform wound care, catheter care, and other nursing procedures.
    • Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) as required.
    • Provide emotional and psychological support to clients and their families.
  • Client Education:
    • Educate clients and their families on health conditions, medications, and self-care strategies.
    • Promote health and wellness through health education and lifestyle counselling.
    • Communication and Collaboration:
    • Maintain clear and concise communication with clients, families, and other members of the healthcare team.
    • Document all nursing interventions and client outcomes accurately and comprehensively in electronic health records.
    • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings and case conferences.
  • Quality Improvement:
    • Identify and report any concerns regarding client care or safety.
    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance the quality of care
  • Professional Development:
    • Maintain current registration with the relevant Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)/AHPRA.
    • Participate in ongoing professional development activities to enhance clinical skills and knowledge.
    • Adhere to all relevant legislation, regulations, and professional standards.
  • Essential Criteria:
    • Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (NMBA)/ AHPRA.
    • Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in an acute or community setting.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Current CPR and First Aid certifications.
    • Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively.
    • Strong commitment to client-centred care.
    • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays.
    • Current Police Check and National Criminal History Record Check.
    • Current Immunisation records, including influenza and COVID-19 vaccinations.
  • Desirable Criteria:
    • Experience in aged care, palliative care, or community nursing.
    • Post-graduate qualifications in nursing.
    • Experience with electronic health records.
    • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
